Have you ever considered an automatic sprinkler system?

However, maybe you just aren't sure you want to spend the $3,000 - $4,000.  Now there is an alternative!  Green Boys LawnCare can keep your lawn watered this summer, for much less than the cost of an automatic sprinkler system, and save you money on water as an added bonus!  Average size lawns are about $650 for the season.  Here's how it works:

Getting Started
1.) We visit your lawn, and determine the turf area you would like watered.
2.) We determine the number of sprinkler setups required to water the lawn.
3.) We agree on the price and write up a service agreement.

During the Summer
1.) You provide accessible water and hoses.
2.) We provide the sprinklers and timers.
3.) June, July, and August, we come once a week and give the lawn a good soaking.
4.) We monitor the lawn and adjust watering amounts based on observations and weather.
5.) If significant rainfall occurs, the watering schedule and/or watering amounts will be adjusted.
(This conserves your water while still ensuring your lawn gets the necessary amount of moisture.)

                                                      Frequently Asked Questions?

Why do you only water during the summer months?  The cooler and wetter conditions of the spring and fall will normally maintain the turf in good condition without supplementary watering.  Our program is designed to minimize watering while still maintaining the turf.  If you want the greenest lawn on the block all season, and don't mind spending several hundred dollars a month on water, then an automatic sprinkler system is probably a better fit for you.

Do you think watering once a week is enough?  Most turf experts agree, including K-state, that the best method of watering a lawn is the soak and wait method.  This is the process of deep watering, soaking the ground to a depth of 6-8".  You then wait a significant period of time to allow the ground to dry before watering again.  This process encourages deep root establishment.  See the following K-state document for more information:

What time of the day do you water? We do our best to get the watering done in the morning, between the hours of 5 and 10am.   The morning is the best and most efficient time to water your lawn.

Do you clean up when you are complete? Absolutely, we roll your hoses back up, and double check to make sure we have your water completely shut off.

What if I plant new grass, and need watering in the spring or fall?  We can setup sprinklers on an automatic timer, to water daily for two weeks, while your seed is germinating.
                                   Comparison to Automatic Sprinkler System...

1.) Automatic Sprinkler Systems are expensive!  Systems for average lawns in this area are $3,000 - $4,000.  Not to mention the charge to have them turned on and tested in the spring, and blown out for the winter.  And then there's the maintenance costs of all those sprinkler heads, solenoid valves, etc.  Our watering service is $650 a season for the average lawn, and no maintenance!

2.) Automatic Sprinkler Systems use a lot of expensive water.  Many times they are programmed and forgotten about.  They run all season long, several times per week, whether the water is needed or not.  If a sprinkler head is damaged or not running optimally, often it goes unnoticed.  I often see them running in the rain, and I hear from many homeowners who are spending hundreds of dollars per month on water.  Our service will conserve your water.  We only water when it's needed - in the summer when it doesn't rain.

3.) With our service, your lawn won't get torn up, as is the case when an automatice sprinkler system is installed.

4.) With our service, you'll have one of our technicians on your lawn observing it every week.  They will make adjustments based on their visual observations, and what they know about the upcoming weather.
