Most work will be mowing, but we offer a full range of lawn and landscape maintenance services. Applicant will start out training, to learn properties and the way we like things done. Applicant will be payed $10 per hour while training. After training period pay is by commission, based on amount of work done. Potential to make $15/hr plus, with productivity equal to current crews. Time and a half for overtime. 50 hours plus not uncommon during busy season. Must be able to work long hours in the heat or cold, and weekends when necessary due to heavy work load or rain-outs. Bonus at end of season. Experience a plus, but must be willing to do things the way we like them done. Must be honest and trustworthy. Must know English, bi-lingual a plus. 5 lawn maintenance workers needed for temporary, full-time employment 

Job Duties: Use rakes, shovels, mowers, trimmers, and other hand or power tools or equipment to prepare grounds for landscaping activities. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of grass cutting, edging, mulching beds, trimming shrubs, planting, weed pulling, etc.  Work to be performed outside from April 1st to December 23rd. Temperatures during summer months may reach above 100 degrees.  No education or prior work experience is required.  Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs.

Employer will offer 40 hours of work per week, Monday through Friday 8 AM - 4 PM, depending on weather conditions. Work on Saturdays may be required. Workers are needed to begin training/work on 4/1/2024 through 12/23/2024. 

Work will be performed in multiple worksites throughout the Topeka area including Shawnee County. 

Workers will be paid no less than $14.88 per hour. Overtime hours may vary, depending on weather or other conditions, and will be paid at $22.32 per hour. 

The employer will provide on-the-job training in the proper use and maintenance of landscaping power tools and equipment. 

The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid on Tuesday (weekly) by check. No Board/Lodging will be provided by employer; however, employer will be available to assist worker in finding housing for the season. The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. 

If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will: 

Option A: arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. -or- 

Option B: reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. -or- 

Option C: provide advance payment for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. 

Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier by the employer, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. 

Workers are responsible for daily transportation to and from the designated pick-up location at the Topeka office. Employer will then provide each work crew with daily transportation among the worksite locations in Topeka and Shawnee County. 

Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). 

The employer will provide workers at no charge or deposit charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned. 

The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
